“Vision for Nuclear Engineering” Panel: Time to be announced.
Experts in the production of, policy-making for, and educational efforts surrounding nuclear energy will give their perspectives regarding use of this critical resource to meet the country’s and the world’s needs for power.
Among the panelists will be:

Alice Campbell Alumni Center
Short courses in nuclear engineering: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The courses will be held in the morning and early afternoon, and will include such topics as “Nuclear Power Issues and Solutions,” “The Promise of Fusion Energy,” and “Nuclear Impact on Medicine and Human Health.”

50th Anniversary Dedication Ceremony: 5 p.m.
A short ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. to dedicate a
memorial paver on the east side entrance to Alice Campbell Alumni Center. The paver will read: “Celebrating 50 years of nuclear engineering at the University of Illinois. September 12, 2008.”
NPRE Alumni and Friends Social Gathering: 5:30–6:30 p.m.
Guests will be encouraged to mingle and renew friendships in the Alice Campbell Alumni Center Richmond Reception Gallery.
NPRE Alumni and Friends 50th Anniversary Dinner: 6:30 p.m.
Following the dinner, the program will start at 7:30 p.m., and will include presentation of the NPRE Distinguished Alumni Awards and other recognitions. Also included in the program will be presentation of the video that highlights fathers of NPRE’s programs, Profs.
