Alumni Awards

Illinois NPRE alumni have made noteworthy contributions to industry, government, academia, and society in general for a half century. Many of these individuals have been recognized by the Department with the NPRE Distinguished Alumni Award and the NPRE Advocate Award, by the Grainger College of Engineering, the University of Illinois, the American Nuclear Society, and other organizations.

Award Criteria:

The NPRE Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented by ILLINOIS NPRE and by the NPRE Constituent Alumni and Industry Advisory Board to ILLINOIS NPRE alumni who make notable advances in the field of nuclear science, and/or lasting contributions to society in general. Through their careers and voluntary service, these individuals bring honor upon themselves as well as to their fellow graduates, ILLINOIS NPRE, Illinois Engineering, and the University of Illinois.

Timing:

While nominations can be submitted at any time, winners for each year's awards will be chosen early in the Spring Semester. Awards will be presented at that year's NPRE/American Nuclear Society Student Chapter Honors Banquet, typically held in April.

This award recognizes alumni and friends who have demonstrated their loyalty to NPRE through volunteer efforts, financial contributions and/or other forms of advocacy.
